“Don’t you have any feelings for me?” he asked, sounding sincere. His head was tilted down, his eyes looking up. He was coming to the painful understanding that I really did want his brother instead.
“No, I don’t have any feelings for you. Sorry.”
With those words I delivered a fatal wound to Adrian’s heart. It killed him to be rejected by the only woman he’d ever cared for. His emotions took a sharp turn, going from raw pain to unbridled fury. He pushed me backward with such force that I flew about fifteen feet.
“I have done nothing but love you since the day I met you. And you—you bitch—strung me along like a puppet. You are not getting away with that.”
Adrian pounced on me. He was heavier than his thin body suggested, and he weighed me down. He was turning into that monster I’d seen at the killing ritual. His nails started to claw up as he ripped my shirt apart, and left deep cuts. He kissed my chest savagely and covered my mouth so I couldn’t scream. My fangs came down, and I fought to open my lips so I could bite him. I tried to use telekinesis to get him off me, but my terrified state blocked it.
“I’m taking what’s due me,” he said with a little froth in the corner of his mouth. He ripped the zipper out of my pants as if it were made of papier-mâché. He moved his sweaty hand away from my mouth. I bit wildly at the air, hoping to land my teeth in his flesh.
During the wrestling match, I was able to slam Adrian in the nuts. He rolled off me, clutching himself. I staggered to my feet and booked it to the house. Meanwhile, Adrian fought through his pain, ran me down, and tackled me. I landed on my stomach with him on my back, a puff of dirt rising around us. He straddled me, his knees digging into the backs of my spread thighs. I thought they were going to break. When Adrian got full control over me, he got between my legs and started pulling my pants down. Then I heard the sound of his belt unbuckling.

Review: Animate Me by Ruth Clampett + Giveaway
Today I have my review of Animate Me for you. Animate Me by Ruth Clampett, self-pub by Clampett Studio, was released on May 1, 2013. This New Adult/Adult fun and sexy contemporary romance is sure to please.
Love struck animator, Nathan, has set his sights on Brooke, the Director of Development at their animation studio.
He has worshipped her from afar for years and even created a comic book heroine named B-Girl in her likeness. When their paths cross he seizes the opportunity to make a good impression. As they grow closer a serious hindrance looms…her dwindling romance with Arnauld, head of the animation studio.
When Arnauld realizes that Nathan is threatening his relationship with Brooke, he goes after him and it sparks an outrageous uprising at the studio. Havoc ensues from antics only a building full of creative cartoon people can create. In the midst of the drama Brooke has to decide whether to follow her heart or risk her impressive career, while Nathan pulls out all the stops to “woo” his girl.
The conclusion has you cheering for our unlikely hero to capture his B-Girl’s heart…while he wins our hearts as well.

MY REVIEW
What can I say; a book that quotes Pinky and the Brain gets a shout-out from the very beginning! Now, if you are anything like me, you’ve got the theme song of P&B going through your head.
This book is a love story told from the male POV, an animator male POV at that. So there are plenty of flashes of the comic book scenes from “The Big Bang Theory” but without the complete nerd overhaul. An adult contemporary romance, with plenty of chuckles and palm smacks to the forward moments that keep the reader involved with the story, the characters and the underlying issues at hand. Honestly, most adult books I’ve read have been female POV’s and I wasn’t sure going into this read how it was going to pan out, but I can happily say that it was wonderful!
Nathan has been swooning over Brooke for 2 years and one day luck is on his side and he is able to actually smooth his way into her life. First as a friend, than, well, you get the idea. As a reader, I really felt for Nathan. His embarrassments, his accomplishments, his everyday work atmosphere with those friendships. It was like I was Nathan and not having the wingman view, but 100% in his shoes.
A great read, especially if you are looking for something on the lighter romantic side, humorous but not lacking on conflicts. Honestly, as I read this I could envision certain actors in the parts and it read like a movie. A really, really good movie. I highly recommend this book and especially with all the cartoon quotes, comic book store scenes and included caricatures, it has sent my personal geekness in overload and I’m loving it!

Ruth Clampett, daughter of legendary animation director, Bob Clampett, has spent a lifetime surrounded by art and animation. Graduating from Art Center College of Design with a BFA in photography, Ruth opened her own Design/Photography studio and also taught photography at UCLA. In 1993 she joined Warner Bros. almost fifty years after her father left the studio and worked her way up to VP of Design for the WB Studio Stores. Now operating her own studio as the fine art publisher for Warner Bros. she has had the opportunity to know and work with many of the greatest artists in the world of animation and comics.
After telling stories visually her entire life and a fan-girl at heart, Ruth was introduced to the on-line world of fan-fiction and started writing stories inspired by the colorful people and events in her life. Over two million hits, and thousands of reviews later, Ruth is publishing her first novel, Animate Me, a contemporary romance set in the animation world. She lives in Los Angeles and is heavily supervised by her teenage daughter, lovingly referred to as Snarky, who plans the summer around their yearly sojourn to Comic Con.
